The Argyle Neighbourhood
The Argyle area, for the purposes of this guide encompasses two real estate zones with the Argyle Mall as the centre hub. The bulk of the housing in the area is in the entry level and average categories. Most of the smaller neighbourhoods are fairly settled with a lot of larger lots and smaller ranches and bungalows. There is some newer areas, built within the last 15-20 years towards the east and south of the neighbourhood. There is also a significant amount of retail, commercial and industrial businesses in the area. The area remains attractive to many for its close proximity to work and increased quality of life that results from shorter commute times.
Parks and Other Areas of Interest
Services in the area include the East Lions Community Centre, Argyle Mall, and the Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
The area is home to a number of parks including the East Lions Park, Culver Park and Mildred Barrons Park, Bonaventure Park, a portion of Kiwanis Park, Admiral Park, Nelson Park, and Forest View Community Park.
Schools
Elementary Schools include F.D. Roosevelt P.S., Bonaventure Meadows P.S., Lord Nelson P.S., Prince Charles P.C., Princess Anne French Immersion P.S., and John P. Robarts P.S., as well as Holy Family Catholic School, and St. Pius X Catholic School and London Christian Elementary School.
The area is serviced by Clark Road Secondary School.
